STARBUCKS ASIA PACIFIC

In the fourth quarter of 2022, I was commissioned by Starbucks Asia Pacific to paint a diptych for their Regional Art Program. The compositions are to reflect a flourishing and abundance of the very best of earth's offering in coffee while also featuring the rich biodiversity in coffee farms. One piece features an assortment of feathers and wings in daytime with the hummingbirds and butterflies fluttering around the coffee cherries, while tree frogs abound in the other piece as well as luminous fireflies and jewel beetles reflecting their colours on the dew drop-covered leaves in nighttime. To add texture to the compositions, some of the leaves in both pieces are stylistically-rendered such that they are covered in patterns. The original paintings are currently on display at the Starbucks Reserve branch at the Jewel in Changi Airport.
